HIV AND PROCREATION AMONG DISCORDANT COUPLES, by Mercy Alomba

Being HIV+ is hard enough but in Kenya it gets awkwardly harder because of the social expectations and pressures to start a family.

Thanks to the progress of medicine and science, discordant couples (couples where only one member is HIV+) can have children who are born HIV- but it requires time and money, two resources that are far too often scarce for the Kenyan newly weds.
